Mission Statement

What is permaculture? Permaculture is an incredibly useful, innovative, and versatile system that has the potential to offer solutions for pressing problems in sustainability and beyond.

Yet beyond those who are already involved with it, it is not always known about or accessible. Soil to Sky Permaculture promises to do the following:

  • Make permaculture concepts, especially those that use systems thinking and holistic design, accessible to lay people (non permaculture designers/practitioners) – with a special focus on the ‘smartphone generation’ and how permaculture principles can help people deal with climate anxiety through practical action

  • Integrate permaculture with the open and citizen science movements as a way of democratising information

  • Frame permaculture principles in terms of their relevant to current human developements – the rise of AI, sustainability, and inequality of information

Methods of doing this are designed to be fun and approachable, including mapping, proof of concept, grassroots/citizen driven think tanks, and more.

Want to get involved?

Currently, I can work with you or your organisation at an Introduction to Permaculture level and offer talks and workshops on how permaculture principles can :

  • support the above aims and topics
  • help interaction across sectors by making high level concepts accessible to those on the ground
  • be adopted or incorporated into your individual goals
